Esports culture in Malaysia has grown rapidly over the past few years. From cybercafe setups in Kuala Lumpur to university students' bedrooms in Penang, esports has become part of everyday life for many Malaysians. Mobile Legends Bang Bang in particular has become a phenomenon of its own — the Malaysia Pro League (MPL MY) is now streamed live across multiple platforms, drawing large audiences every weekend.
Recognising this growth, Sports 088 has invested seriously in its esports betting platform. The result is an experience built specifically for local fans — broad match coverage, real-time odds updates, a wide variety of bet types and deposit methods that Malaysians use every day. This is not a minor add-on to a conventional sports platform. At Sports 088, esports receives the attention and resources it deserves.
What sets Sports 088 apart in the Malaysian esports space is the depth of betting markets on offer. For every MLBB match, for instance, you are not limited to picking a winner. Sports 088 provides dozens of specific bet types — which team draws first blood, total kills in a full match, who destroys the first tower, whether the match ends in three maps or fewer, and much more. This gives a real edge to players who genuinely follow and understand the esports scene.
DOTA 2 enjoys extensive tournament coverage on Sports 088. The International, DPC League, ESL One — all major tournaments are available for betting. Players who follow Southeast Asian teams, including emerging Malaysian squads on the international scene, will find Sports 088 the most comprehensive and reliable source for odds.
CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) brings a different dimension to the esports betting experience on Sports 088. CS2 matches are long, layered and full of momentum swings that can shift at any moment. Sports 088 offers real-time betting throughout the match, meaning you can react to in-game developments and capitalise on opportunities that arise every round.

More than just win or lose — Sports 088 offers dozens of markets for every match
Pick the team you believe will win the overall match. The most straightforward and most popular bet type on Sports 088.
Bet on whether a match ends in 2 maps or goes to 3 (BO3). Available for MLBB, CS2 and Valorant matches.
Bet with a map advantage or deficit assigned to a team. Ideal when there is a clear gap in strength between the two sides.
Bet on which team draws first blood or destroys the first tower. Attractive odds for players who understand early-game strategy.
Bet on whether the total kills in a match will go over or under a set number. Available for MLBB, DOTA 2 and CS2.
Combine 2 to 10 bets into a single parlay ticket for significantly multiplied odds. Higher risk, bigger rewards.
Place bets while the match is in progress. Odds shift every second based on live developments — a quick reaction can mean a bigger payout.
Bet on the team you think will win the entire tournament before it begins. Early odds tend to be at their highest before the group stage concludes.
Valorant may be newer than CS2 or DOTA 2, but it has grown faster in Malaysia than any other esports title in recent years. The VCT (VALORANT Champions Tour) Pacific brings together top teams from across Asia-Pacific, including Paper Rex from Singapore — a team with a massive following in Malaysia. Sports 088 offers full VCT Pacific coverage with a complete range of betting markets for every match.
Beyond VCT, Sports 088 also covers Malaysian and smaller regional Valorant events, opening up betting opportunities for fans who closely follow the local scene. If you know the current meta and agent composition strengths, that knowledge can give you an edge when placing smarter bets.
Esports betting differs from conventional sports betting in several important ways. First, match outcomes can be influenced by the latest patch — game updates that alter the strength of certain heroes or weapons can shift the balance of power between teams. Players who keep up with patch notes are better positioned to make informed betting decisions.
Second, player breaks and last-minute lineup changes are common in esports. Sports 088 provides up-to-date information on every team to help you make more informed decisions. Always check the latest news before placing a bet on a high-stakes match, especially during playoff stages and grand finals of major tournaments.
